Thunder

A cast off.  A baby nobody wanted.
His mother and sister were a desirable, well trained draft horse team of blond Belgians, trained to ride and pull a wagon.
But the long legged, knock kneed, jet black baby?
The result of an accidental breeding to a Thoroughbred stallion?
He had no use.

Until God brought him across our path.
His awkward clumsy movements spoke to our hearts and he became one of the original horses in the Mercy Trails Ranch herd.

Majesty, power, awesome beauty….
Those are the words that are now used to describe Thunder.
King of the herd, every movement is graceful and calculated.
His size and jet black color draw the eye, and his calm, gentle spirit quiet the heart.

A fearful child relaxes as they scratch his enormous head, and his nuzzles in their hair make them laugh.
The knowledge that he was a cast off, a reject, unwanted, but now the embodiment of strength, gentleness, and grace, used by God to connect to hurting hearts, resonates and brings hope.
